The water story of urban soils

What is the importance of water storage and buffering in urban soils of tree rooting spaces for stormwater management on a city scale? A big question! Thinking about it, we want to solve it in t(h)ree stage process :). Firstly we look at the physical properties such as soil compaction, water retention curves and others variables to have a description of what an urban soil in the rooting space is all about. Secondly, we fit the variables into existing water models of specialized study offices and estimate the water storage on a city scale. The final step is to use cases like the city of Stockholm to show the importance and practical implementation of urban soil water storage.
